Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Hi-Loft Down Hoody fit?

It has a classic fit with an updated cut that layers easily over sweaters. Draft-blocking cuffs help keep the cold out, so your child's usual size generally gives the best coverage.

What is it made of?

As Patagonia's warmest kids' jacket, it uses 100 percent postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop for the shell and 700-fill-power recycled down for high-loft, compressible warmth.

What are the design details?

It features a three-panel insulated hood, zip handwarmer pockets, a full-zip closure, and an interior pocket. The quilted build keeps the down in place, and a water-repellent finish sheds light moisture.

What can my child wear it with?

Layer it over a fleece or long-sleeve tee with jeans or joggers, or wear it under a shell on the coldest days. The insulated hood adds head coverage without needing a separate hat.

How do I care for it?

Machine wash cold and tumble dry on low to help the down refluff. Avoid fabric softener and high heat, and make sure it is fully dry before storing to maintain the loft.

When is this hoody best worn?

As Patagonia's warmest kids' jacket, it is made for the coldest winter days, school, and outdoor play. The high-loft down and insulated hood deliver serious warmth that still packs down.
