Frequently Asked Questions

How should men's shorts fit and what inseam should I choose?

Shorts are sized by waist, with the inseam setting where the hem lands. A five to seven inch inseam sits well above the knee. Nine inches sits just above it. Eleven inches or more sits at or below the knee.

What types of shorts does this collection include?

The collection covers flat front and pleated chino shorts, performance and golf shorts, five pocket styles, drawstring and elastic waist shorts, and casual cotton and linen styles.

What fabrics are used in men's shorts?

Cotton twill and stretch cotton lead in chinos. Performance shorts use polyester and nylon blends with elastane. Linen and linen blends suit heat. Some casual styles use seersucker or lightweight canvas.

What is the difference between a chino short and a performance short?

A chino short uses woven cotton with a clean finish and reads smart casual. A performance short uses stretch synthetic engineered to wick and dry fast, often with a hidden waistband adjuster, and suits golf and heat.

How should men's shorts be cared for?

Machine wash cotton and linen cold and hang or tumble dry low. Linen presses best while slightly damp. Skip fabric softener on performance shorts, which blocks wicking. Avoid high heat, which degrades elastane.

What should I wear shorts with, and when are they too casual?

Chino shorts pair with a polo or camp shirt and loafers or clean sneakers. Performance shorts suit golf and active use. Most offices and evening venues expect trousers, and shorter inseams read most casual.
