Women's Jewelry: Necklaces & Earrings

Frequently Asked Questions

How is jewelry sized and how do I choose a chain length?

Most pieces are one size or adjustable, though rings and some bracelets are sized. Necklaces are described by chain length in inches, which determines where the pendant sits, from a choker at the neck to a long chain at the sternum.

What types of jewelry does this collection include?

The collection covers necklaces and pendants, earrings from studs to hoops and drops, bracelets and cuffs, rings, and layering chains, across everyday and occasion pieces.

What materials are used in this jewelry?

Pieces use gold and silver plating over brass, sterling silver, gold filled metal, and stainless steel. Freshwater pearl, shell, glass beads, and semiprecious stones appear across the range.

What is the difference between gold plated and gold filled?

Gold filled has a far thicker layer of gold bonded to the base metal than plating does, so it lasts longer before wearing through. Plated pieces cost less and suit occasional wear, while gold filled handles daily use better.

How should jewelry be cared for?

Put jewelry on last, after perfume, sunscreen, and lotion, all of which dull plating and damage porous materials. Shell and freshwater pearl absorb liquid, so keep them dry. Remove pieces before swimming or showering.

How should jewelry be stored?

Store pieces separately in a pouch or lined box so chains do not tangle and harder stones do not scratch softer ones. Keep silver in a closed container, since air exposure is what causes tarnish.
