I purchased the Kjus Formula pants for colder day when I want ski pants with some insulation. I have another pair of shell ski pants that I wear on warmer days (mid-twenties or above and sunny). I recently wore the Formula pants in combination with insulated compression leggings in 15 degree weather with heavy snow fall, and my legs were warm and dry. I was pleased with the amount of insulation the pants have as well as the amount of water resistance. My legs stayed warm and dry. They also have a nice amount of stretch to them for comfort while moving. I should note that they are low waisted (like jeans).
On the con side, they only have two pockets for storage and no zippers to open for ventilation if you get warm. I thought that was an odd omission given their price. In addition, while they are compatible with the Kjus Suspenders, they don’t come with the suspenders. Those are an additional $49. Again, at this price, I thought they should be included with the pants. Nonetheless, I bought the suspenders, but they kept falling off my shoulders, so I returned them. I have a pair from my other ski pants that work well with the Kjus pants and don’t fall off my shoulders.
Finally, in terms of fit, I usually wear 34 inch waist pants. However, the size 52 Kjus formula pants fit me well, so I think they run small.
