Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hestra known for?

Hestra is a Swedish family glove maker founded in 1936, known for durable, handcrafted gloves and mittens. The range balances technical warmth with classic design, built to last and to improve with age.

What materials does Hestra use in its gloves?

Hestra works in premium leathers like goatskin, deerskin, nubuck, lambskin, and hairsheep, alongside wool-blend knits and teddy fleece. Many styles add G-Loft or PrimaLoft Gold insulation with soft fleece linings.

How does Hestra glove sizing work?

Hestra uses a numeric hand-circumference system, and many find their number matches their US shoe size within one. Between two unisex sizes, choose the larger; womens styles run slightly narrower, and gauntlet styles like the Heli run large, so the brand suggests sizing down if between.

What types of gloves does Hestra offer?

The collection spans five finger gloves, mittens, and liners for men, women, kids, juniors, and babies, from ski and freeride styles to everyday leather gloves and cozy knit and fleece mitts.

How do I care for my Hestra gloves?

Match care to the material. Keep leather away from soaking, wipe clean, air dry away from heat, and condition periodically; hand wash and lay flat to dry wool knits; wipe membrane ski styles clean and air dry, avoiding high heat.

How do I style Hestra gloves and mittens?

Pair ski and freeride styles with a shell jacket, helmet, and goggles, and dress leather or knit-back gloves with a wool coat for city days. Thin liners layer under shells for extra warmth.
