Herno Down Jackets & Outerwear

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Herno known for?

Herno is an Italian outerwear house founded in 1948 on the shores of Lake Maggiore. It is celebrated for blending technical performance with sartorial elegance, creating refined jackets and coats that feel as considered as they are functional.

What materials does Herno use?

Herno works with premium natural and technical fabrics, from herringbone wool and plush faux fur to quilted velvet and lightweight goose down. Many pieces pair luxurious surfaces with warm, insulating fills for cold-weather comfort.

How does Herno sizing and fit run?

Herno uses Italian sizing with a streamlined, tailored cut. Shoppers often find the fit runs slightly small, so those between sizes or planning to layer may prefer sizing up. Check each product page for the specific fit and model details.

What does Herno offer?

The collection centers on elevated outerwear for men and women, including field jackets, belted coats, and down jackets. Styles range from everyday layers to statement pieces with special details like sequins and faux fur.

How should I care for Herno pieces?

Care depends on the fabric. Wool and structured pieces are best dry cleaned, faux fur and velvet should be spot cleaned or handled by a specialist, and down should never be machine washed. Always check the garment label.

How can I style Herno outerwear?

Herno outerwear layers easily over both casual and dressed-up looks. Pair a wool jacket with denim and boots, cinch a belted coat over tailored trousers, or let a sequin down jacket elevate a simple base for evening.
