HEAD Sportswear

Since launching in 1960, HEAD Sportswear achieved a reputation for cutting-edge design, engineering excellence and a passion for championing all sports, everywhere. HEAD became the leading brand of ski sold in the United States and Europe by 1955. Convincing world class skiers to adopt composite skis took longer, but significant Olympic victories on HEAD skis during the 1960s sealed the fate of conventional hickory skis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of clothing does Head Sportswear make?

Technical ski and snowboard apparel for men and women. The range spans hard shell jackets and bibs, insulated pants, down and synthetic vests, lightweight layering pieces, and a small number of accessories such as fur collars.

What is Head Sportswear known for?

Sport heritage applied to skiwear. The brand builds around its own Intelligent Apparel Membrane for waterproof breathability, and pairs it with performance materials chosen for the demands of freeride and resort skiing.

What materials and technologies does Head Sportswear use?

Stretch Cordura shells in two-layer and three-layer builds, PrimaLoft synthetic insulation in Black, Gold, and Cross Core grades, duck down in select pieces, Schoeller edge protection at the inner leg, and water-repellent finishes.

How does Head Sportswear sizing work?

By European numeric, so the number is not a US size. A women's 36 sits at roughly a US small, and a men's 50 corresponds to about a 32 inch waist in pants. Compare the size chart before ordering.

How should Head Sportswear outerwear be cared for?

Wash cool with a technical cleaner and never fabric softener, which blocks the water-repellent finish. Close all zips and fasten the snow skirt first, then tumble dry low to reactivate the repellency.

How do I build a Head Sportswear ski outfit?

Layer it. Start with a base layer, add a lightweight insulated jacket or vest, then a shell above and a bib or insulated pant below. Several pieces share fabrics, so jackets and bibs can be matched deliberately.
