Frequently Asked Questions

What is Frauenschuh known for?

Frauenschuh is an Austrian house rooted in alpine heritage, blending luxury craftsmanship with mountain function. The collection spans refined ski wear and outerwear in loden, lambskin, and down, designed to move elegantly from the slopes to the village.

What materials and fabrics does Frauenschuh use?

Frauenschuh works in premium natural and technical materials: soft loden wool, lambskin, suede, and shearling, down insulation, merino wool, cashmere-silk-wool knits, nappa leather, and stretch Schoeller softshell, often finished with Alcantara and leather accents.

How does Frauenschuh sizing and fit work?

Frauenschuh uses numeric sizing, with women's pieces often in sizes 1 to 3 and men's in suit sizing. Fits range from slim and figure-skimming to classic and relaxed, and outerwear leaves room to layer underneath. Check each product's model note for guidance.

What does Frauenschuh make?

The range covers ski jackets, suits, and pants, down parkas, loden coats, leather jackets, skirts, and trousers, vests, fine knitwear, sweaters, polos, cotton-linen blazers, and accessories like fur hoods and belt bags, spanning women's and men's.

How do I care for Frauenschuh pieces?

Care depends on the material. Have leather, suede, shearling, and fur cleaned by a specialist, wash down pieces with a down-safe detergent and tumble low, lay knits and wool flat to dry, and wash technical softshell cold without fabric softener to preserve water repellency.

How should I style Frauenschuh?

Frauenschuh is built for layering from mountain to village. Pair technical ski shells with merino base layers and knits, or style loden coats and leather pieces over sweaters for town. Fur hoods and belt bags add finishing alpine accents for apres-ski and travel.
