Frequently Asked Questions

What does Amundsen stand for as a brand?

Amundsen is a Norwegian heritage outdoor brand inspired by the spirit of polar exploration. It blends timeless, rugged style with modern, sustainable performance, making gear built for the outdoor life Norwegians call friluftsliv.

What materials and fabrics is Amundsen known for?

Amundsen favors natural, durable materials like brushed cotton flannel, sherpa wool fleece, and rugged waxed cotton, often paired with recycled down. Many pieces use undyed or organic fibers for a sustainable, long-lasting build.

How does Amundsen apparel fit and how should I choose a size?

Most Amundsen menswear has a classic to relaxed fit and generally runs true to size. If you are between sizes or plan to layer, sizing up gives a roomier feel, while your usual size suits most builds.

What products does Amundsen offer?

Amundsen focuses on heritage-inspired outdoor apparel, including flannel shirts, wool fleece vests, insulated down vests and jackets, knitwear, and technical trousers. Each piece is designed for layering across cool and cold-weather adventures.

How do I care for Amundsen garments?

Care depends on the fabric. Machine wash cotton flannel cold and tumble dry low, hand wash or gently cycle wool pieces and lay them flat, and wipe waxed cotton clean rather than washing it. Always check the label.

How can I style Amundsen pieces?

Amundsen layers beautifully. Pair a flannel shirt with a wool or down vest over denim or chinos, and finish with boots for a rugged, outdoorsy look that works on the trail or around town.
