Weight Pull Report

The St. Bernard Club of Southern Oregon held its annual weight pull in conjunction with the Coos Kennel Club Annual Dog Show on 10, 2010 July weekend.  We love pulling in the chute at Bandon.  As always in Bandon, the temperature was a perfect 65 degrees, slight breeze and wonderful for the dogs. Judge for the pull was Paul Bodeving. As usual, this show attracted around 50+ spectators. It is nice to see the local community come out and appreciate our dogs abilities.  Results are included in the appendix to this report. In summary, we pulled 9 dogs and 1 puppies .

Every dog pulled a qualifying weight. A number of legs were pulled as well as titles were awarded.  Legs were pulled by Clark, Diesel and Grace.  Both Clark and Stoney pulled the same weight at 3,127 pounds, but Clark won by pulling it in 16.00 seconds. Stoney as second was followed by Manny with a pull of 2,910 pounds.

The puppy has a great pull (both puppy and handler were novices and both did great) and went to 740

The atmosphere at this pull which is handled with an all breed show is always fabulous. As usual, a large number of spectators (about ½ locals and ½ dog show exhibitors) were on hand to cheer on the dogs. The Coos Kennel Club’s help and obvious advertising of our sport is greatly appreciated. The chute is one of the best we pull in as shown by the weights pulled.  We encourage everyone to come and see us and participate in next year’s pull of the SBCSO at Bandon Or.
